Super Mario RPG is all about weapons. If you don't have the best weapons available, Mario and his friends will struggle unless you learn how to exploit Mario's Super Jump, but that's a mustache of a different color. The thing is that your adventure can either be a breeze or a struggle, depending on the weapon at your disposal.

Super Mario RPG: Ultimate Weapon Location Guide

If Mario and the gang are going to take down Smithy, they're going to need their ultimate weapons. Here's where to find them.

The game boasts a wide selection of weapons for each character, and the perfect gauge action system gives extra value to the weapons that aren't as useful as others, so it's always a great idea to be on the hunt for these tools.

All Mario Weapons Locations

Super Mario RPG: Weapon Location Guide (2)

Mario has the most weapons available in the story, with nine to select from. The majority of them are hammers and shells, except for the Power and Mega Gloves, which Mario uses to uppercut the enemies, Punch-Out!!-style.

To perform a perfect Gauge Action Command when using Hammers, Press A as soon as the Hammer lands on the floor.

If you are using a Shell, press A when the shell is descending towards Mario.

If you are using Gloves, press A when Mario's first punch lands on the target.

The Masher is inside a chest hidden in Booster's Castle. To find it, continue through the castle as usual until you find Booster's train room. The next room after that is a giant staircase filled with Bomb-Ombs.

At the top of the staircase, you'll find a room in the middle, where you'll only see a small platform, the chest, and a fall into the void. Step exactly on the yellow tile and drop yourself; you'll land on a catapult with a bomb on the other side, hitting the chest and freeing the Masher (which will land on Mario's head).

With the Voucher, head to Marrymore and claim it to get the premium suite. Here, Geno will appear, claiming he saw a shine in Star Hill. Head there and explore until you see Geno saying you should visit the Frog Sage to see what's happening. But in fact, you don't need to go there. Instead, head to Moleville.

This process unlocks Punchinello at Moleville Cave and lets you battle against Belome, Booster, Culex, and the chefs at Marrymore.

Get inside the mine and reach the zone where you fought against Punchinello. Here, defeat him in battle again, and he'll give you the Wonder Chomp.

The obstacle course is more a pest than a problem; for the first part, you must be patient and wait to be sure you are safe to jump to reach a new platform. The same goes for the second part; don't climb the walls too fast and focus more on avoiding the barrels than climbing.
